Genova Questions

Hello and Welcome again. As many of you will be traveling great distances in order to attend the GeMUN conference, we are sure that you have several questions. What questions if any might you have about the region, the city, the people, or, of course, the food?

No responses yet! Let me be the first.

My name is Annie, and I will be coming from Tustin High School! I have never been to Europe before, let alone Italy.

1) What kind of jacket do you recommend? Rainproof? Windproof? Or just a regular overcoat?

2) What are some basic phrases we should know? (I will be picking up a little guidebook anyway, but I'm just curious) :)

I'm excited! Yay! :)

Hey Annie,
I recommend you bring a windproof jacket because Genoa in March tends to be quite quite cold and windy. Rains aren't as frequent but we may be expecting snow!

Some basic phrases...
Grazie/Thank you
Prego/You're Welcome
Ciao!/Hello!-Goodbye!
Buongiorno/Good morning
Buona sera/Good evening
Come stai?/How are you?
Come ti chiami?/What's your name?
Dove posso trovare un..../Where can I find a...?
There are so many of them! Check out this useful website:

See you in Genoa!

I had a question about your Security Council Committee. Are there three topics or two? Can you specify the focus of each topic, I usually like to see what my esteemed chairs would like delegates to focus on and discuss, as often times we can go off on odd tangents. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!

Dear Tala Haykal,
I am a delegate in your committee. Can you please explain to me your topics and what you want us to do, I am kind of confused with regards to the procedure of the council and the direction of the topics.
Thanks!

Hello delegates!
My name is Lavinia Tomasinelli, I am 17 years old and I attend the fourth year at Deledda International School. I am going to join the conference as Co-Chair in the Special Conference Committee and this would be my fifth MUN experience.. I am really looking forward to seeing you all at this GeMun 2008 since it will be my very first experience as Chair and I am very excited about it.During my spare time I love going out with my friends, reading, watching films, writing short stories concerning the magical world, taking pictures, drawing, chatting, playing the piano, daydreaming, surfing the net .. and enjoying myself basically. I am a music-addicted: I listen to my i-pod all through the day and I can't figure out my life without its soundtrack.
I can't wait for this GeMUN 2008 to come!

Hi delegates!
I’m Giada Trucco, I’m seventeen years old and I attend the fourth year at Deledda International School. At GeMUN 2008, my sixth MUN experience, I have the great honour to be your Assistant President in the Security Council Committee.
I’m very excited, happy and scared at the same time of being chair but I know I will enjoy this event a lot! This time I will have the opportunity to see the conference from a different point of view, while in the past I had to find a solution for world problems, now I will help you, delegates, in this duty.
My hobbies are going to the cinema and watching comedies or thrillers, reading, listening to the music, but most of all politics, for me it is a real passion, as a matter of fact taking part in a MUN gives me the opportunity to try what in the future I hope will be my profession.
My MSN mail is giada_tr@hotmail.it
See you guys,
Giada

dear andy,
the procedures of debating is on the site and also the topics. The open agenda topic will be decided during lobbying. You will have to research the topics and then the whole security council will work together to do a complete resolution.
if you any questions do not hesitate to ask me.

Haha okay, thanks! I figured since he was a busy person, it'd be easier for me to reach him through here because this is definitely checked more frequently. I understand how busy it gets, so no worries ;)
